Troubleshooting

Check, in order:

  1. Did you mention it? Brain only reads DMs by default. Mentioning @NitroxBrain in a channel works too.
  2. Did you see a reaction emoji? No reaction = the message didn’t reach the bot. Usually a Slack workspace install issue — ping your workspace admin.
  3. Was there an error in the reply? “Something went wrong on my end” means a turn errored; tell Brain “what happened on the last message?” — it has access to its own error log.

Brain is asking for an integration you haven’t connected yet. Type:

Connect [service name]

and follow the consent flow. See Connect your accounts.

Rare. Means our Anthropic API key on your container has run out of credits. Email hello@nitroxconsulting.com — we top it up usually within an hour.

It shouldn’t. If your memory is genuinely empty after a previous conversation:

  • Try again in 60 seconds — Brain may have been mid-sync.
  • Ask: “what do you remember about me?”
  • If still empty, email hello@nitroxconsulting.com with the approximate date of the lost context. We can sometimes recover from snapshots.

React with 🗑 on Brain’s reply in Slack. Brain forgets the turn (your message + its reply) and deletes the message from Slack too (Brain can only delete its own messages).

Or for finer control, just say what to forget:

Forget what I said about the Acme deal.

Brain detects language per message. If it gets it wrong (rare), tell it:

Reply in French from now on.

It sticks across messages.

To leave NitroxBrain entirely:

  1. Cancel your subscription from the Stripe customer portal (Stripe sends a portal link with each invoice).
  2. Email security@nitroxconsulting.com with subject “Export and delete my data”.
  3. We ship a tar.gz of your vault within 30 days (usually 1–3 business days).
  4. After you confirm, we delete your container, your vault, your OAuth tokens, and your routing rows. Confirmation email when done.
